City Manager Antonio Jefferson
Antonio Jefferson was appointed City Manager of the City of Gretna in August 2006. Antonio started his career in public service in 1983 when he joined the United States Army Reserves. In November 1984, Antonio left the Army Reserves and joined the United States Marine Corp where he serves on active and reserve duty. During Antonio’s tenure in the Marine Corps he serves as an Infantryman, Training Chief, and Administrative Chief. After active duty service concluded in 1988, Antonio began a career in law enforcement and served the citizens of the state of Florida as a Correctional Officer and a Correctional Officer Sergeant with the Florida Department of Correction, a Deputy Sheriff, Investigator, and Sergeant with the Leon County Sheriff’s Department, Law Enforcement Investigator with the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office, and as Police Chief with cities of Midway and Gretna. He is currently a member of the Gadsden County Sherriff Department Reserve Unit. Prior to being employed as Gretna’s City Manager, Antonio worked as the Purchasing Director for the City of Quincy.
Antonio received a B.A. in Public Administration from Barry University and a M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Antonio is a Master Economic Development Profession (MEDP). Antonio is a member of Leadership Florida (Class 38), International City/County Management Association, the Florida City & County Management Association, the Gadsden County Economic Development Council, Ahmed Temple #37 Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, C.H. Henry Masonic Lodge #543, Opportunity Florida Board of Directors, and the President of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce.
