Position Objectives:

  • Seek methods to reduce costs and increase revenues.
  • Track liquidity and cash flow by ensuring the city has sufficient funds to meet its obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal and regulations.
  • Develop financial scenarios by forecasting and planning for different situations and outcomes.
  • Manage relationships by communicating and negotiating with stakeholders, creditors, customers, and suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and submission of the annual budget to the City Commission; assists the City Manager in submitting a complete report on the finances of the City at the end of each fiscal year; at the direction of the City Manager, keeps the City Commission fully advised as to the financial condition and future needs of the City, making recommendations where deemed appropriate.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Two (2) years of professional experience in government or private sector accounting; and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in the above stated or equivalent fields.
