Commissioner Anthony J. Baker - Seat 4
Commissioner Anthony Baker was elected to the City of Gretna Commission in 1997. A faithful community servant, he is passionate about serving the best interests of the City and has served the Commission consecutively for nearly 25 years. As a lifelong resident of Gadsden County, Commissioner Baker understands the community's needs and prioritizes “Making A Difference” through economic development and community safety.
Commissioner Baker has been a public servant for nearly 30 years, including city and state government, seven years in the military and three years in his current position as Fire Chief of Quincy, FL. Commissioner Baker holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix and is responsible for the strategic oversight of the city’s fire safety.
Commissioner Baker is actively involved in the Capital Area Community Action Agency, striving to help individuals and families in need. He is also dedicated to his faith and is led by the guiding principles of Psalms 23 that remind us in life or death, in times of plenty or want, God is good and worthy of our trust. Commissioner Baker is a lifelong member of Greater St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church, and has served as Associate Pastor for five years. He has been married to his lovely wife, Tamma Baker, for nearly 30 years.
